Nigeria’s Security Milestone: 35 Aircraft Procured, 13,500 Terrorists Killed Under Tinubu’s Administration

The Nigerian Federal Government has announced a major breakthrough in the fight against terrorism since Tinubu assumed office in May 2023. This information was disclosed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during an interview on Politics Today; a Channels Television programme. He stated that over 13,500 terrorists have been eliminated, 120,000 fighters have surrendered, and 17,000 displaced persons have been reunited with their families as part of recent military operations

Despite these gains, security experts caution that sleeper cells and kidnap-for-ransom gangs remain active in some areas. But, the government further assured Nigerians that the military is working on intelligence-driven operations to root out remaining threats.
