TOYIN ABRAHAM DECLARES: “I’M A PROPHET – I HEAL THROUGH MY MOVIES”

On June 20–21, 2025, Nollywood actress and producer Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi took to her X page to share a screenshot of a message from a therapist. The message revealed that the therapist had used Toyin’s latest film, Iyalode, as a therapeutic tool with an elderly client and saw positive emotional results. In response, Toyin wrote: “I just don’t shoot movies, I’m a Prophet and I speak and heal people through my movies. IYALODE is still showing in cinemas in Nigeria, pls find time to watch and be blessed.”  The film Iyalode premiered in Nigerian cinemas on June 6, 2025, and raked in over ₦100 million in just its first four days at the box office. The movie is a historical drama directed by Adebayo Tijani, co-produced by Toyin and her husband Kolawole Ajeyemi. It features a powerful female hero, Asabi Adikaka, who is a warrior seeking justice, by tackling betrayal, leadership, and legacy in the village of Kulende. It also features other actors like Bukky Wright, and Wale Ojo. Thematically weighty and emotionally rich, it resonated strongly with its audience, and a must watch for all.
